Thousands of LA’s homeless have served our nation in the armed forces.  Over the past several years, the generosity of the Wise community has helped hundreds of veterans feel at home in new, permanent housing after living on the streets. Through our work with Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH), our “Homes for Heroes” initiative assists vets by providing new furniture, appliances, and amenities that truly make them feel at home. From filling “welcome home” baskets with kitchen and houseware items during our semi-monthly packing sessions to furnishing apartments with more essential items, we can show our thanks for all that our veterans have done for us with their service. We are always collecting new houseware items (view our list) or you can make a donation to help us purchase larger items.
