WTY just said l’hitraot to our 18 Lithuanian and Israeli 9th and 10th grade guests who spent 12 days being hosted by WTY and Santa Monica Synagogue teens as part of the Jewish Federation School Twinning Program. TALAVI, Tel Aviv-Los Angeles-Vilnius, Lithuania, brings together teens from these three countries in an effort to show our teens Jewish life across the world, build community, lifelong friendships, and educate our students about Jewish history and culture. 11 WTY teens, 5 Santa Monica Synagogue teens, 10 Israeli teens, 8 Lithuanian teens spent a weekend at Camp JCA Shalom bonding and celebrating Shabbat, visiting the Museum of Tolerance, volunteering with Russian elderly people in partnership with Ocean Park Community Center, learning from residents at Beit T’shuvah, meeting with the School Twinning team at the Jewish Federation, touring Wilshire Boulevard Temple, Soulful Shabbat Service at Wise and hitting all the LA highlights like Downtown, Hollywood, Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier, LACMA, and, of course, In-N-Out Burger.
