Tonight has lovingly become known as “Shabbanukkah”—the Sabbath that falls during the Festival of lights. It is a fantastic reminder that in the darkness, there are ways to add even more light. To our two Sabbath candles, we add the light of the Hanukkiah.

We, too, are capable always of adding just a little more light, compassion, and love into our relationships and our world. Best of all, we don’t have to wait for a special convergence in time—we can dedicate ourselves to doing so day by day.

May we, tonight and always, be amongst those who spread, magnify, and multiply the light of Torah, kindness, and joy.
