Passover: A Poignant Conclusion

When the sun sets tomorrow evening Passover concludes. It is noteworthy that before we say goodbye to the holiday, we gather on the final day for a Passover service (this year, it coincides with Shabbat). Included in the service is Yizkor, a memorial service for loved ones who have passed away. We recite Yizkor as a community four times a year: on Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret (eighth day of Sukkot), Passover, and Shavuot.

There are many reasons to recite Yizkor. One reason I find particularly powerful is when we recite it, we elevate the souls of our loved ones. We can do something for those who did so much for us.

I invite you to join us for services tomorrow morning. I believe you will find it to be a meaningful conclusion to our holiday.

Shabbat Shalom.
