Tzanchanim

Tzanchanim (Campers entering grades 3-5)

Tzanchanim campers enjoy a one-of-a-kind camp experience. From two incredible field trips each week to choosing their activities, each day will be a new adventure. When not on an exciting field trip, campers select from numerous activities. See our Camp Mahanayim Activities list below for a list and explanation of activities.

New this summer! Tzanchanim campers can also participate in the World Explorers Program! World exploration will be integrated into many of the campers’ daily Pe’ulot (activities), such as cooking, recreation games, and crafts.

At the end of each week, all of our campers come together to celebrate Shabbat. As they sing songs, light candles, bless wine, and taste the delicious hallah, they are reminded just how lucky we are to be a part of this camp community!

See below for camp activites.

 t-6 (campers entering grade 6)

The fantastic T-6 campers enjoy the summer of a lifetime, where they are truly the “seniors” on campus. T-6 campers participate in special activities all summer long, including overnight camping trips, leading Shabbat services, and taking care of their Grade 1 buddies. They also help lead Pe’ulot and the Maccabia Games.

Tzanchanim and T-6 Activities:

Campers choose three activities so they can build their own camp day. Options available include:

Camp Mahanayim Activities

Art ~ In the summer art class, campers explore new materials and techniques, and create wonderful, colorful masterpieces that both parents and campers admire. This mixed media experience is designed to open up imaginations and build confidence in the visual arts.

Cooking ~ Campers whip up everything from pita pizzas and milkshakes to fruit plates and smoothies.

Drama ~ Improvisational exercises and role-play! In addition to fun drama games, campers learn and perform weekly plays about the Parasha HaShavuah (weekly Torah portion).

Swimming ~ Instructional swim, plus noodle races, relays, Marco Polo, Sharks and Minnows, and plenty of free swim time, make swimming a popular activity.

Sports ~ Campers hone their athletic and teamwork skills by playing basketball, flag football, volleyball, soccer, and much more!

Recreational Games ~ Campers play games like Capture the Flag, Ultimate Frisbee, handball, kickball, medic, and Ga-Ga (outdoor activities).

Wacky Science ~ See everyday objects whiz, bang, poof, and pop! Campers engage in fun scientific projects, such as making gooey putty and puncturing a balloon without it popping.

Krav Maga (Israeli Self Defense) ~ Krav Maga motivates campers to improve their overall level of fitness and enriches them with crucial life skills, so that they can become champions in all aspects of life. Respect, discipline, focus, sportsmanship, teamwork, manners, and common sense are just some of the life skills carefully woven into the Krav Maga experience.

Yoga ~ Campers learn the basic yoga poses and breathing skills.

Take Action ~ Each week, campers study a Jewish text and work on a corresponding Mitzvah project, including craft items for the elderly, care packages for St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and lunches for homeless shelters.
