Mahanayim Leadership Training Program
Entering Grade 10
This summer, Mahanayim is offering a brand new three-week Leadership Training Program. This program provides teens entering Grade 10 the opportunity to develop their leadership abilities, learn how to lead informal educational programs, and teach valuable team building skills.
Program participants, Leaders-In-Training (LIT), come together for a special orientation program with our Education Director, Carrie Vogel. This orientation provides LITs with the tools they need to experience camp for the first time as group leaders. Each week, LITs meet as a group to share and learn from each other’s experiences with Carrie and other members of Mahanayim’s senior staff. In addition to the ongoing training they receive from Mahanayim’s senior staff, each program participant is able to use their newly-acquired skills in an actual camp group setting, along with Mahanayim’s counselors and co-counselors.
Although LITs are not compensated monetarily, they are rewarded through personal growth and development. Furthermore, with the on-the-job experience gained, exceptional LITs may have the opportunity to become paid staff members in the future.
