When a Rabbi Met a Temple in Bel Air: A Story of 35 years
Rabbi Eli Herscher
Monday, March 15, 2010
Rabbi Herscher shares what he has learned about Jews since arriving at Stephen S. Wise Temple in 1975. Joining the rabbinic staff right out of school at the age of 27, he reflects on changes he has seen in the Jewish people, the State of Israel, and our own congregation. He will focus on the transformation that has taken place at Stephen S. Wise Temple, particularly in attitudes toward the role of tradition in worship, the impact of intermarriage, and the Jewish self-image resulting from Day School education. He will include personal and humorous encounters with our members. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn from a man who shaped the history of our Temple, and whose life was equally shaped in return.
How Will Your Story Be Written?
Dr. Lee Hausner
Monday, April 12, 2010
If 50 years from today a major news outlet wanted to write an article about your extended family, what would you wish they would be able to report? It is the hope of most parents that their future offspring will become a loving, connected extended family, productive and contributing to the world in which they live. However, this outcome does not occur by chance. Just as a flourishing business has an organized strategy which contributes to its ongoing success, so do “Legacy Families” understand that to remain successful for several generations, the “business of the family” needs a similar strategic plan. This presentation will focus on the tools and processes described in Dr. Hausner’s latest book, The Legacy Family, which enable families to achieve this goal.
Dr. Lee Hausner is a psychologist, business consultant, and internationallyacknowledged expert in the field of successful family operations.
