Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School has the honor every year of hosting the Young Writers’ Conference. This unique event brings children from public and private schools throughout Los Angeles together in one location to learn writing techniques from professional writers. Every child spends the day attending three different sessions, each with a different writer. The authors introduce the students to the craft of writing and ask the students to create their own individual pieces. The speakers are experienced with and excited about working with children. Many of the speakers may be someone with whom you or your child are already familiar.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of a number of Stephen S. Wise parents and individuals within the community, scholarships will be available for deserving students. All of the event's proceeds will be donated to charity.

Although the reservation deadline has passed, there are still some spaces left. To register for the Young Writers' Conference, complete a reservation form and submit it with a check by mail. The cost of attendance is $125 (includes three workshops, lunch, T-shirt, and writing supplies for the day). Click here to download a reservation form. Once registered, you will receive further instructions for registering online by mail. Note that online registration begins in January.
