Student Support Services

Student Support Services ensure that individual students' needs are identified and addressed. The Director of Student Services coordinates Student Study Team, Counseling, Resource, and PACE (Programs for Academic and Creative Enrichment). Parents are important partners in the support process.

The Student Study Team, led by the Director of Student Services, includes the Principal, Vice Principal, Counselor, Resource Specialists, PACE Coordinator, and Director of Hebrew Languages Studies. They meet regularly with teachers who request the team's consideration of students in their classes. The team may offer suggestions to the teacher, request conferences with parents, or make specific recommendations.

The School’s Counselor is closely attuned to the social and emotional climate throughout the school. She observes students in the classroom and on the playground, engages students in "lunch bunch" conversations, meets with students, staff, and parents individually and in groups, and monitors the "Cool Tools" program. The Counselor is a member of the Student Study Team.

The School’s Resource teachers provide support for students who may benefit from receiving academic support. They may work with students in the regular classroom or in pull-out programs. They collaborate with classroom teachers to diagnose student needs, develop instructional goals and plans, and to monitor student progress.
