The social studies program helps students to acquire specific knowledge of history and geography as well as cultural understandings and critical thinking skills. Students learn their rights and responsibilities as citizens of a democracy. They learn to appreciate the balance that must be maintained between expressing themselves as individuals and fulfilling their responsibilities as members of the community. This balance is reinforced as our students study about their history as Americans and as Jews.  At all Grade levels, students study the interaction between people and their environment.
