Mission Statement

Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School is a Reform Jewish Day School committed to a balanced secular and religious curriculum. Through an integrated curriculum of general and Judaic studies, we strive to provide the cognitive, social, emotional, ethical, spiritual, and physical foundations needed by students to succeed in a changing world. Our School is dedicated to recognizing the uniqueness of each child and creating a caring community in which students can grow to their potential. Our comprehensive academic program and wide variety of learning experiences foster responsibility, academic excellence, and creativity. By placing a priority on critical, independent, and creative thought and expression, we encourage our students to become lifelong learners.

With our commitment to Jewish education, we seek to give children a background in Jewish history, culture, religion and spirituality, and the ability to speak Hebrew as a second language. Our intent is to instill in our students the desire to improve the world (tikkun olam) by acting as responsible members of the Jewish community and American society. We believe that our mission can best be served by maintaining a strong partnership between students, parents, synagogue, and the School.
