Exploration, Social Interaction, and Blessings

The developmental, project approach curriculum in the ECC is founded in the Jewish Holidays.  Highlights include:

  • Exploring the sounds and symbols of the Jewish Holidays through story, art, music, play, drama, and more
  • Small classes with a maximum class ratio of eight children per teacher
  • A focus on outdoor play; children use their bodies to explore the world
  • Snack and Lunch: We practice positive social interactions and daily blessings
  • Bringing literature and a love of reading to all children through classroom libraries and The Max Hess Library where words come alive in the eyes of a young child
  • Weekly Shabbat Celebrations: a special day for reflection and discussion, along visits to the Synogogue with Rabbi Brett
  • Introducing Social Action to our learners through SOVA and Tzedakah; Helping others who are less fortunate
  • The Sounds of Music: Joyous sounds of young voices learning the traditions, blessings and songs of our ancesters.

The ECC also has an outstanding childcare program for parents needing a safe and loving environment for before and after regular school hours.  Please ask for information about Early Morning (open to all) and Extended Day (open to families with working parents or families with children enrolled in K-12 programs at Stephen S.
