The After School Programs are filled with exciting and educational activities for your children. Programs run Monday through Thursday and are either offered from 12 noon - 1:15 p.m. or 2:10 p.m. - 3 p.m. The ECC also offers an Early Morning Childcare Program daily from 7:45 a.m. - 9 a.m.

The following is a list of the 2010-2011 Enrichment Classes for Spring 2011: 

Archaeology - Your child will learn through excavations and adventures, digging and discovering! They will learn all about dinosaurs, their environment, fossils, bones and other historical artifacts.

Beginning Piano - Join the adventures of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse into the wonderful world of music and keyboard. Each child has their own keyboard during class. Children experience the basic dynamics of piano techniques, pitch matching, rhythm, and music appreciation.

Bugs and Gardening - Children experience the enriching environment of nature and growth. We get our hands dirty while we plant seeds; explore different kinds of soil, and ways that seedlings grow.

Carnival Fun - Why wait for Purim to go to the carnival, when you can enjoy all the FUN of Purim every week right after school. Join us for fun activities, like apple bobbing, face painting, fun art projects and making your own fun and yummy snacks.

Discovering Israel - Children will be able to learn about Israel through the five senses. Places in Israel will be explored through such media as art, science, foods, music and dance.

Early Childhood Music Class - Children are introduced to instruments, creative movement, singing, listening, and rhythm.

Expressions through Music - This is a wonderful high energy class that allows children to explore and express themselves through listening, moving, playing instruments, painting, and having fun!

Green Robot - Build a robot! This unique and exciting class allows children the opportunity to explore and build with recycled items to make an eco-friendly robot. Your child will think outside “the box” and create both a community project as well as an individual masterpiece using tires, hub caps, pipes, and boxes, just to name a few. We empower children to be thoughtful, creative, resourceful, and independent. This fun class will provide endless opportunities for your child to use their creativity and ingenuity. Our program reflects our core belief that children learn by being creative.

Gymnastics - The children will enjoy rhythmic movement such as running, dancing, skipping, bouncing, and hopping. They will be able to develop their coordination, and learn new skills while climbing our portable gym.

Inspired By ... - Splatter and drip like Jackson Pollock. Use lines and color like Mondrian. Take a photograph just like Ansel Adams! Children begin to analyze and appreciate the unique style of well-known artists.

Karate - This teaches children martial arts in safe environment. They learn kicks, punches, and blocks through games and self-discipline. There is a standard reflecting belt requirements.

Let's Speak Spanish! - Learn conversational Spanish including numbers, colors, commands, greetings, and body parts. This is taught through games, songs, and stories.

Little Superstars - Join the fun as children creatively explore acting out a story adapted from a children's book. This is a great way to develop their imagination and build self-confidence.

Mazes & Relays - Does your child have extra energy to exert at the end of the day? This enrichment focuses on problem solving skills and gross muscle development by allowing children to challenge their minds and bodies with obstacle courses, relays, games, and more outdoor fun!

Mystery Box - Surprise! What’s in the box? Each week the class will be presented with a mystery box filled with exciting materials and activities. We will provide endless opportunities for your child to explore through play, and exercise his/her imagination. Class themes include a firefighter kit, a birthday kit, restaurant kit, etc. Your child will be encouraged to be creative, thoughtful and resourceful. After each class your child will get to take home something from our mystery box! We will provide you with additional ideas to continue this play in your home, including some play ideas, cooking ideas, and art ideas. Our program reflects our core belief that children learn by being creative.

Photography - Children will be encouraged to look at the world they see every day in a different way! Before we even take pictures, we will begin to understand some key terms such as: subject, focus, zoom, light, angle, portrait, and landscape. Once we have processed our understanding of photography we will then start to make our learning visible by creating a photo journal.  After your child's photos have been taken we will upload onto our computers and view each one with the artist individually discussing the elements. Slowly, your child will begin to develop their own style of photography and begin to see the world through the eyes of a lens.

Preschool Kinetics - This lively class has endless benefits! It exercises, not only the whole body, but the mind as well. It will help promote physical fitness, posture and coordination, social values, a well-rounded introduction to music, creativity, self-expression, and stimulation of the learning process.

Science - In this program, children’s curiosity is fueled by the marvels of magnetism, the effects of gravity, and the wonders of light and color.

Sculpture - Children explore their creativity in a that introduces them to the art of pottery making. Children focus on a new theme bi-weekly. The skills gradually increase in difficulty.

Soccer Shots - Soccer Shots is a national program designed to introduce your child to the game of soccer. This not only teaches the basic skills of soccer, but it also places a high emphasis on character development as well.

Sports-'n-Fitness - Children have TONS OF FUN learning the fundamentals of sport. They participate in a variety of non-competitive games and learn about teamwork.

Tot Gourmet - Our chefs chop, mash, roll, knead, and mix, as they prepare and eat delicious, healthy foods. With every scrumptious cooking activity, they learn to measure, count, and follow directions.

Wood Working - Children will start with the essentials and learn how to sand, use hammers and nails, screwdrivers and screws while creating a new project each week. Using their creative imagination children will then embellish their pieces.

Yoga - After a long busy day at school come stretch and relax with us in a blissful environment.

Zumbatonic Fitness - Join the craze and jump into the exciting world of Zumba Fitness, especially designed for young children. This dance fitness will introduce your child to many International rhythms and movements in a fun and upbeat way as we learn to feel the music and just let loose.
